Heidinga Saxophone Neck Pricing

“Much of my work has been devoted to refining the design of the saxophone neck through building, listening, comparison and feedback from players. Rather than creating different neck models, I focused on one alto and one tenor design — guided by what fascinates me in exceptional vintage instruments: how they seem to resonate with very different players, each with their own sound and musical personality.

I build each Heidinga saxophone neck individually in my workshop in Amsterdam, using designs, tools and processes I developed specifically for this work.

My approach is rooted in instrument making. After years of repairing, studying and eventually building complete saxophones, I gradually chose to concentrate on the neck. What appears to be a simple part of the saxophone became the focus of my work, as I discovered how strongly it shapes the instrument as a whole.

I have played the saxophone seriously myself, and jazz has always been an important part of my life. Some of the players I work with are professionals; others simply love playing and care deeply about their instrument and sound. I enjoy working with all of them.”
